The consumer travel segment is a $1 Trillion global market that is underfinanced relative to other key consumer verticals.

We are looking for an ambitious and driven individual to grow with us as Chief Compliance Officer. We operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where everyone on the team “comes to win”– our work atmosphere is highly-entrepreneurial, familial and fun.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures in operations, product, lending and credit policy
  • Lead the design, development and implementation of the Compliance Management System
  • Effectively represent UpLift at the highest level, while managing audits and exams both internal and external
  • Continuously monitors competitors and industry best practices to ensure that consumer loan products are appropriately designed and priced
  • Able to engage with the product organization to design and develop new lending and financial products, while managing towards compliance and risk goals
  • Represents UpLift at the executive level in providing confidence in our compliance policies and assurance of our regulatory risk management to counterparties and partners


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law or similar discipline; JD preferable
  • Minimum 10 years consumer compliance experience required, including working knowledge and ability to analyze and interpret state and federal laws and regulations affecting the consumer lending industry (ECOA – Reg B, TILA -Reg Z, FCRA, FDCPA, GLBA Privacy, UDAP, and UDAAP, etc.)
  • Ideally experience in a federal regulatory agency with consumer lending oversight (FDIC, CFPB, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong oral and written skills. Ability to write clear and concise reports, make presentations, speak and respond effectively to employees, members, vendors and the public
  • Skilled in interviewing, leading, directing, coaching, motivating, delegating, evaluating, counseling, recognizing and disciplining assigned employees

  • Fintech startup experience a plus
  • Located in SF Bay Area or willing to relocate
