The mandate of the Director of Collections will be to enhance Uplift’s servicing and collections strategy and execution. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop Uplift’s collections processes utilizing industry best practices and manage third party collection agencies
  • Develop and prioritize a collections strategy tailored to the unique circumstances of Uplift receivables
  • Enhance borrower repayment experience and efficiency
  • Automate all aspects of collections following loan origination
  • Efficiently manage accounts delinquent due to exceptions, including fraud, bankruptcies, death, legal actions, etc.
  • Design and specify necessary infrastructure to support servicing and collections objectives
  • Develop and deliver management reporting to executive team including Uplift’s chief risk officer
  • Lead analytics initiatives in loan servicing and collections domain
  • Work with risk and credit analytics teams to enhance integration of risk management across borrower lifecycle from application to successful repayment, including developing a feedback cycle where borrower behaviors and actions appropriately influence and improve underwriting

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; Graduate degree is desirable
  • Minimum 7-9 years of practical experience in financial services or related industry; preferably in a Risk Management or Operations capacity, with exposure to Loan Servicing, Collections and Recovery operations
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with all aspect of regulatory compliance and legal processes associated with collections
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency in a demanding environment
  • Ability to develop and cultivate solid cross-functional partnerships and networks within Uplift and with Uplift’s partners, and contribute to executing cross-functional business initiatives
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills, thought leadership
