Ice Hawks win a close one...
The Outlaws (formally known as K-Wings) gave us a run for our money. The Outlaws
looked as if they did a little recruiting before the season. They had a few new faces on the
ice and with these new faces came a much stronger presence...
The Ice Hawks and Outlaws both played a very close first period.
It seemed to be dominated by very good positioning and passing by both teams.
But it was the Ice Hawks who capitalized first, by a goal from
50 Ow, her first ever in
the 5 on 5 ICAHL league! Congratulations Jenny! Her goal was assisted by both
9 Arakaki and
53 Dvorak.
The Second period was not as well played, with both teams falling apart and slipping to very sloppy
play. The suddenly opened up, with turnovers on both sides. The Outlaws were the first team to capitalize with
a goal unassisted by Outlaw #3 Prang. Then 6 mins later 3 Kopp
was able to capitalize from a loose puck that bounced
right to him as 16 M. Lachtanski
took the puck in and drew both defensemen away from the front of the net.
The just 6 mins later from deep in the Outlaws zone Outlaw #94 Vanderesch was able to take a face off win from
end to end to make a quick goal. But with just 3 mins left in the second
12 Ross was able to tip one in
5-hole from a sweet behind the back pass from
22 Arsenault, with
25 Pekarek also assisting on the goal. Hanks
goal would end up the Game winner.
In the third period the Outlaws had out shot the Hawks 13 to 7, but
## Bart stood strong to
get his first regular season win with the Ice Hawks!
