Ice Hawks Storm Back Into the Win Column

We set the tempo early in this game when 30 seconds into the contest 12 Ross took a back hand feed from 22 Arsenault and made them pay for not covering him in the high slot. A screamin' wrist shot and BAM!, we are up 1 to nuthin' and we never looked back. "That's the way, uh huh, I like it, uh huh, uh huh, That's the way....." Sorry for the musical interlude used as game commentary, now back to the regularly scheduled summary.

Then came 3 Kopp .....2 goals in two consecutive shifts, one was a beautiful wrist shot from the right side that caught the left side of the goal. (Goals always look impressive when they are of the high in the net variety.) It was beginning to look like the Ice Hawks were going to have another incremental decrease in their puck supply as we all know that it is tradition for 3 Kopp to swoop up the puck and take it home and having it bronzed after scoring a Hat Trick. At the rate Roger is scoring hat tricks we should be plum out of pucks by the year 2030. The Fair, 22 Arsenault and 12 Ross line made up for their dismal performances of the recent past by combining for 5 goals with 4 Stebbins and 22 Arsenault each having 4 point night (2 goals, 2 assists each) to go along with Hank's icebreaker. The defense for the most part was stifling and did a great job keeping the puck in their zone for most of the game. The most impressive part of this game was when we sensed a slight lull in our play and let them back into the game for awhile, we got into our killer instinct mode turned up the heat to put the Opies away. But I do believe that one lapse was done purposly by 3 Kopp, when he decided to cherry pick and not back check, resulting in the Opie third goal, which in turn gave 3 Kopp the game winning goal. You got to keep an eye on that guy!

Notable Notes: 44 Young knows at what tempo playoff hockey is played at and judging by the amount of smack he was talking during the game he either senses a playoff run or he listened to a Jim Rome marathon all weekend. He's either in the zone or in "The Jungle", Baby!! (See Quotable Quotes Section to follow).

4 Stebbins now knows why I so "graciously" deferred the penalty shot to him. If the statistics are correct, you have a 1 in 3 chance of scoring on a penalty shot with perfect ice and the assumption you have a modicum of skill. I wasn't about to chance it and bear the shame of getting stuffed by a GIRL Goalie to boot. No offense intended ladies, it is just a guy thing!!

G Bart once again had a outstanding game in goal fending off numerous one on ones as our players started to get greedy did a little too much cherry picking and pinching late in the game.

Judging from the number of bruises on Jenny's body, (this knowledge does not come from any of Hank's Voyeur reports) it looks like Gary will get a few suspicious looks and have to fend off a few domestic violence accusations. Remember Jenny, ..You fell off the swing!!!

Did 10 Lagemann think he was suspended for his actions last game? Did he actually think that Robert(said in French) did the necessary paper work on that one that fast when it took him seven months to put together some rinky-dink excel spreadsheet and pass that off as "The Standings" for the league?

For the Record: Hank says he didn't make the remark he was attributed with last summary. He says he ONLY repeated. That means one of you other insensitve thoughtless neanderthals on the team said it and I am sorry I couldn't properly give you credit for it. Any fess ups?

Quotable Quotes: 44 Young , among some other doozies, was in rare form and with apologies to 50 Ow and her clever little barb she flung at 22 Arsenault about him not having to worry about having a child who would be as smart as the little kid in "The 6th Sense" (friggin' lawyers) it is 44 Young who had the quote of the day. After having planted one of the Opie forwards ass first onto the ice in the area to the left of the goal there was some ensuing yammerings coming from their bench to which 44 Young replied "Bring it on, That is not My Snow Angel over there on the ice!!". Gawd, how I missed that part of 44 Young's game. Bring on the playoffs!!!
