Ice Hawks Battle Hard, but still only end up with one goal, in 3-1 loss.
The Ice Hawks tried for their second win last night, but we slowly
fell to the S.J. Blues... The Blues seemed to control the game a little better then us, plus their
PURPLE HELMET GUY #22(Dan) was able to go end to end faster then our star players. I know that
the game felt closer then the score really had shown. We actually controlled the puck in their
zone many many times, but we seemed to have trouble getting the shots on net...
The First period was hard fought, but went scoreless. Soon the Blues scored twice
early in the second.
3 Kopp had a really good shot early
in the third from a back hand, but the puck went
about an inch above the cross bar... Close, but not close enough. Finally with one of the Blues
defencemen falling to the ice, 3 Kopp
was able to skate the puck free, and make a centering pass to
18 McFarland, who was camped in front
of the Blues net feeding smores to the goalie, who able to slap it in.
It seemed to me that the Ref's were letting everything go in this
game, 9 Arakaki
was tormented the whole game
with very phisical play, including a cross check on
9 Arakaki in front of their net.
In Summary the Hawks were again hampered by an inability to get off shots and the sudden
blindness that fell upon the Ref's were keys to the Hawks loss.
