Hawks Show Signs Of Life In 4-2 Loss
Despite coming up short against the Bandits, the Ice Hawks showed signs
of life that indicated promise for the future. Despite playing a solid game for all three
periods, the Hawks could not overcome an early Bandit lead resulting from a disputed goal
in the first 30 seconds of play.
Down 3-1 at the end of the first period, the Hawks played the Banditos
straight up for the rest of the game. For the first time, the Hawks scored a third-period
goal--an opportunistic wrister by 19 DeMarquez
. 9 Arakaki tallied the other Hawk score,
his first of the season.
The Hawks were again hampered by an inability to get off shots. The
'birds counted only 14 shots for the game, including a woeful second period in which
they could manage only three shots on goal.
