Well this was the RETURN OF THE RINGER!

The first period started very poorly... The Ice Hawks fell from their points and the defense was getting 3 on 2's. This slow Ice Hawks start led to the Blues scoring the first 4 goals within the first 10 minutes of the game. The Ice Hawks bench went silent as we all watched in horror... Then at 3:43 of the first period 9 Arakaki got a break with the Blues slow on a line change as Gary skated in he drew both defensemen, shooting, then leaving the trailing 3 Kopp open for the easy rebound goal. Just over a minute later, 16 M. Lachtanski was able to get a pass to 22 Arsenault for the goal. We actually felt better, we had been thinking that we might be down 8-0 by the end of the first period, instead we had cut the lead to 2.

The second period had the Blues taking more penalties, 4 total penalties for the game, while the Ice Hawks played a very clean game! The Blues did it again opening up the period with an early goal and then another quick goal at 17:25. By now the Ice Hawks were feeling "The Ringer" wall at defense. "The Ringer" even did a fancy "Figure skating move" to put his whole team off sides and he was mocking us the whole game. Well 22 Arsenault wouldn't take any more of that and a Blues player had hook 22 Arsenault down to the ice as he skated in on a breakaway. The Ref singled for a penalty shot, but then he changed his mind and only called a 3 min penalty. Well either way it worked out for us as 22 Arsenault won the face off to 44 Young for the slapshot goal! "Phil got one on net! Yeah" cried the bench! Then just as the next penalty on the Blues began 25 Pekarek got a power play goal, from assists by 50 Ow, off her skate, (Jenny's First point ever in 5 on 5 hockey!) and 6 Fisher.

Finally the Ice Hawks scored first in period 3! With a sweet STICK SHAFT shot by 3 Kopp off of 16 M. Lachtanski 's rebounded shot. Well the Blues would have none of that and they would put out the "Ringer and friends" to try to finish us off! Pressuring us hard the Blues scored again at 16:32 and then again at 6:40! Well the "Ringer" felt comfortable with his teams 3 goal lead and left the game! "WIMP" can't even play a whole game... The Ice Hawks even protested to the Ref's, "HE CANT LEAVE THE GAME, HAVE HIM STAY! RINGERS MUST PLAY THE WHOLE GAME, THATS THE RULE!" Their comment back was, well he shouldn't be playing at this level... ...Duh!... (Enough of our whining...) Just a little bit after the Ringer left the Blues then took another penalty, which allowed our "Late Comer" 19 DeMarquez to score his first goal of the game on a power play. (3rd PPG of the game) The again with 2 mins left 19 DeMarquez got another goal from assists by 22 Arsenault and 13 Sands.

Well this game actually seemed like fun near the end of the game. We were very happy to get 7 goals on the Blues, even with the added "SUB LIST". But the 8 goals against did not feel to good. Oh well. Maybe next time, "Blues vs. Ice Hawks in the playoffs?"
