Ice Hawks out shot, but still come out with the win.

Well this was the battle of the basement, yep the two last place teams, battling it out. The Ice Hawks were short their strongest D, because of a game suspension for fighting last week. The Outlaws were just short men, they only had 3 or 4 subs for the night... I guess it made for more ice time for them... In fact I don't think #10 ever got off the ice... Do you?

The first period seemed to be end to end until the Outlaws started to close in on us. #10 of the Outlaws was first to piss Mack off, 97 Masukawa had covered the puck with his glove but still the Outlaws # 10 decided to whack 97 Masukawa's glove. That pissed Mack off! The next shift that #10 was out there, well he came and tried to skate over 97 Masukawa , and well you guessed it, a cross-check from our goalie... #10 decided not to mess with 97 Masukawa any more... We had some difficulty getting the puck out during the Outlaws power play, but soon the first period ended up 0-0.

The second period started with the Outlaws getting on the board first, the goal was so quick that I didn't even see it happen. But like always 22 Arsenault would not take it anymore as he took a shot from right of their goalie and was able to get it in the net, with the assist coming from 6 Fisher at the point, Jon's first assist/point ever in ice hockey! Near the end of the second period we got sloppy again and the Outlaws had a two on one coming in on net, and they scored making it 2-1 at the end of the second. More thanks to 97 Masukawa for saving us this period by posting a 94.118 save percentage for the game! GREAT SAVES!

Soon the Outlaws, especially #10, were cherry picking like crazy, this actually helped us out. The Ice Hawks were able to take advantage of the 5th man being out of the play and get two goals during the third period. One was a gift from the Outlaws defense, that went from 9 Arakaki to 18 McFarland into the Outlaws glove, who then pushed it towards his goalie and into the net. Thanks! The Ice Hawks go ahead goal came from an assist by 3 Kopp from behind the Outlaws net, as 53 Dvorak was able to pass the puck quickly to 22 Arsenault for the goal!

Near the end of the third period the Outlaws had to pull their goalie, but our defense would stand strong and clear the puck so that the time ran out quickly!
