Ice Hawks Resurface With 3-1 Loss
A kinder, gentler version of the Ice Hawks returned to league play with a closely-fought loss to
the Predators. Playing for the first time in the Ice Centre in-house league, the revamped Hawks roster
featured a mixture of new and old faces.
After a scoreless first period, the Predators broke through early in the second period.
The Hawks fought back to tie with 22 Arsenault
getting the equalizer on one of only five Hawks shots
in the second period.
Shortly after the Hawks killed a power play, the Predators went on top 2-1 by putting
a rebound past 97 Masukawa. Although
the Hawks skated hard in the final period, they just couldn't
muster up enough shots to pose a viable threat. The Predators scored the final goal on a vacated net
with little more than a minute left in the game. The "talon-less" Hawks were outshot 39-16.
